Revanth Reddy Running ‘Corruption and Diversion’ Government, Alleges K Kavitha

K Kavitha accused CM Revanth Reddy of running a corruption-driven government, alleging irrigation neglect, loss of Krishna water share, and misuse of public funds during a Nagarkurnool press meet.

Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha has launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing his government of corruption, irrigation neglect, and weakening Telangana’s water rights. She raised serious concerns over the Palamuru–Ranga Reddy project, Krishna water share, and regional development.

Kavitha Targets Revanth Reddy Government in Nagarkurnool

Telangana Jagruthi president K Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Saturday alleged that the government led by Revanth Reddy is surviving on “corruption and political diversions” instead of real governance.

Addressing the media during the Jagruthi Janmabatta programme in Nagarkurnool, Kavitha accused the Congress government of failing Telangana farmers, tribals, and marginalised communities.

Serious Allegations in Palamuru–Ranga Reddy Irrigation Project

Kavitha alleged large-scale corruption in the Palamuru–Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Project, claiming that while the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project was fast-tracked earlier, Palamuru was deliberately neglected.

She warned that this neglect led Telangana to lose its rightful claim over 90 TMC of Krishna River water.

Demand for Independent Krishna Irrigation Project

Kavitha cautioned that continued dependence on the Srisailam Project would permanently trap Telangana in inter-state water disputes.

She demanded an independent irrigation project similar to Nallamalla Sagar Project to protect Telangana’s long-term water interests.

Alleged Waste of Public Money and Land Irregularities

The Telangana Jagruthi leader claimed that:

  • Thousands of crores were unnecessarily spent on Palamuru works
  • 900 acres of land acquired for black soil at Vattam Reservoir are under illegal occupation by contractors

She demanded that the land be immediately returned to the government.

Krishna Water Share Under Threat, Says Kavitha

Kavitha stated that Telangana is entitled to 550 TMC of Krishna waters but accused successive governments of failing to utilise even the permitted share.

She criticised the Congress government for allegedly weakening Telangana’s position by claiming that 45 TMC of water was sufficient.

Infrastructure Neglect in Nagarkurnool

Highlighting regional neglect, Kavitha said:

  • Nagarkurnool district still lacks railway connectivity, even after 12 years of Telangana’s formation
  • She urged speedy completion of the Gadwal–Macherla Railway Line

Concerns Over Tribal Welfare and Sand Mining

Kavitha also raised allegations of:

  • Land irregularities linked to the district medical college
  • Misuse of ITDA funds, affecting tribal communities, especially the Chenchus
  • Unchecked sand mining, causing environmental and livelihood damage

Jagruthi’s ‘Samajika Telangana’ Vision

Outlining Telangana Jagruthi’s future roadmap, Kavitha announced:

  • 80% leadership positions reserved for BC, SC, ST and minority communities
  • Continued demand for 12% reservations for minorities
  • Intensified district-level struggles for farmers, displaced families, tribals, and marginalised groups

She concluded by saying Telangana Jagruthi will continue its fight until equitable and inclusive development is achieved across the state.
