Secular Hindus shame BJP on raking up hijab issue
Not only Muslims, but many secular non-Muslims including Hindus have joined the fight against hijab row in Karnataka educational institutions
Hyderabad: Not only Muslims, but many secular non-Muslims including Hindus have joined the fight against hijab row in Karnataka educational institutions.
Social worker Harish Mishra lashes out at BJP for raking up Hindu-Muslim issue before elections in 5 states. He claimed that it’s BJP’s old agenda to create Hindu-Muslim controversy.
Mishra stated that India has age-old tradition of purdah. Even Hindu women wear ghoongat.
Strongly condemning the hijab controversy created by some vested interests, he asked women of India including Hindu sisters to come forward to protect their safety and modesty.
Claiming that they were ABVP members who were shouting Jai Sri Ram slogan, he asked, if it is written in Ramayan to ‘undress’ women?
On the question that some say women are oppressed by Hijab, Mishra sarcastically asked “who was she who shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’?
Lamenting upon the political tactics of BJP, he said, they have gone so mad in politics that they are snatching away the hijab, ghoongat of women.
A Hindu woman also deplored the raising of hijab issue by asking those who want to ban hijab in educational institutions, who gave you the right to choose what Muslim women can wear?
She says she is proud to be a Hindu but at the same time she is ashamed to introduce herself as Hindu because her so-called Hindus men often try to insult Muslims.
Irate over Hindu-Muslim poll plank, without naming BJP, she says there are so many issues to be addressed why they chose only Hindu-Muslim issue.
The Hindu woman salutes the brave girl Muskan who shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’.
She asked many probing questions to the political leaders.
