Sonam Wangchuk Refuses to End Hunger Strike Until Government Responds Positively
Speaking about his health condition, Wangchuk stated that all medical examinations conducted so far, including ECG tests, have shown satisfactory results and that there is currently no immediate danger to his health.

New Delhi: Social activist Sonam Wangchuk has made it clear that he will not end his indefinite hunger strike until he receives a positive response from the government to his demands.
Wangchuk said that calling off the protest without any official assurance would send a message that the voices of protesters can be easily ignored.
In a video message released on the 18th day of his hunger strike, Wangchuk revealed that he had received thousands of appeals urging him to end the fast. He also said that several senior political leaders had met him during the protest, while some individuals had approached the courts seeking directions for him to discontinue the hunger strike.
Speaking about his health condition, Wangchuk stated that all medical examinations conducted so far, including ECG tests, have shown satisfactory results and that there is currently no immediate danger to his health.
He acknowledged feeling weak and experiencing a decline in physical strength but maintained that his overall condition remained stable and that he could continue the fast for several more days.

The activist urged his supporters not to ask him to end the hunger strike but instead to participate in large numbers in the proposed “Chalo Sansad” march scheduled for July 20 in order to send a strong and clear message to the government.
He also appealed to schools, colleges, and universities to encourage students to join the march and gain practical exposure to democracy and the political system.
Meanwhile, the protestors gathered at Jantar Mantar are demanding accountability over the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and have called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
As part of the ongoing agitation, organizers have announced the “Chalo Sansad” march on July 20, coinciding with the opening day of Parliament’s Monsoon Session.
