Supreme Court’s Ruling to Reinforce the Essence of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’: Yogi

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict on abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, and said that it will strengthen the spirit of ”Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”.
Taking to X, the Chief Minister wrote, “The decision given by the Honourable Supreme Court regarding Article 370 and 35 A is commendable. This is going to strengthen the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’.”
He said, “Heartfelt gratitude once again on behalf of 25 crore people of the state for the historic work of connecting Jammu and Kashmir with the mainstream of the country under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the spirit of ‘Nation First’!”

It may be noted that the SC on Monday upheld the presidential proclamation of 2019 abrogating Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
In an unanimous verdict, the five-judge Constitution Bench of the SC said Article 370 was a temporary feature and the President had the power to abrogate it as there was no “mala fide”.
