Tata group unveils ambitious plans for Telangana’s growth

Tata Group, known for its extensive and diverse business operations, has a substantial presence in Telangana. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the technology consulting arm of Tata Group, stands as one of the largest IT employers in the state with over 80,000 employees in Hyderabad. TCS has ambitious growth plans for Hyderabad in the coming years.
Tata Advanced Systems Limited, having established successful joint ventures with global defense and aerospace giants like Boeing, Sikorsky, GE, and Lockheed Martin, expresses a commitment to further expand in this strategic sector.
Tata Technologies Limited (TTL) is collaborating with the State government to upgrade Government ITIs into Advanced Technology Centres, imparting long-term and short-term courses in industry 4.0 trades to address the skill gap. An investment of around Rs 1,500 crore is earmarked by TTL to establish advanced skilling centers in 50 Government ITIs, along with deploying master trainers for new courses.
The Tata Group’s aviation arm is set to expand its Air India fleet, with plans to enhance both domestic and international connections from Hyderabad, positioning the city as a crucial transit hub.
Revanth Reddy, expressed, “Tata Group is a vital partner and a key contributor to the state’s economic growth. Our government is committed to facilitating Tata Group’s investments across various sectors.
We are pleased to collaborate with TTL in establishing advanced tech centers in Govt ITIs and welcome TTL to participate in setting up dedicated skill universities in Telangana.”
Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, added, “Telangana holds strategic importance for the Tata Group. As a group, we aim to expand our footprint in Telangana as much as possible, and we eagerly anticipate cooperative efforts with the new Government.”
The meeting was attended by Minister for Industries and ITE&C Sri D. Sridhar Babu, Principal Secretary ITE&C, I&C Sri Jayesh Ranjan, and Special Secretary, Investment Promotion, Sri Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office said here on Thursday.
