Hyderabad: As the Telangana Assembly election draws near, the latest Lokpoll pre-poll survey paints a picture of a resounding victory for the Indian National Congress (INC), positioning Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) at a considerable distance in second place.
The survey, encompassing the 119 assembly seats, anticipates the Congress securing a commanding 69 to 72 seats, while the incumbent BRS is projected to claim a modest 36 to 39 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to secure a mere 2 to 3 seats, with All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) poised to retain 5 to 6 seats.
According to the Lokpoll survey, Congress is poised to amass a significant portion of the vote share, ranging from 43-46%. In stark contrast, BRS is expected to garner approximately 38-41% of the vote share. BJP and AIMIM are projected to secure 7-10% and 4-6% of the total vote share, respectively.
Comparatively, in the 2014 elections, BRS claimed victory in 63 out of the 119 constituency seats, with Congress securing 21, AIMIM 7, and BJP 5. In the 2018 elections, BRS extended its dominance by securing 88 seats, while Congress maintained 19 seats, AIMIM retained 7, and BJP secured a mere 1 seat.
