Telangana Government Faces Setback as High Court Stays Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Building Project

However, construction activity at the site has come to a halt following a dispute over the ownership rights of the land allocated for the project. Acting on petitions related to the ownership claims, the High Court directed authorities to maintain the status quo until the matter is resolved.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has suffered a setback after the High Court ordered a status quo on the land earmarked for the construction of the proposed Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) headquarters in Miyapur.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had recently laid the foundation stone for the ambitious project, which was estimated to cost around Rs. 161 crore. The new CMC building was planned as a major administrative hub to cater to the growing civic and governance needs of the Cyberabad region.

However, construction activity at the site has come to a halt following a dispute over the ownership rights of the land allocated for the project. Acting on petitions related to the ownership claims, the High Court directed authorities to maintain the status quo until the matter is resolved.

The court’s order has effectively stalled the construction work, creating uncertainty over the project’s timeline and implementation.

Sources said officials are now exploring alternative locations for the proposed headquarters in order to avoid further delays and ensure that the project moves forward without legal complications.

The government is expected to take a decision on the future course of action after reviewing legal options and the availability of suitable alternative sites.
