Telangana Minister assures Kerala govt to fulfill rice requirements at competitive price
Kerala Minister for Food & Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs G.R.Anil visited Hyderabad and had a meeting with Telangana Minister for Irrigation & Civil Supplies N. Uttam Kumar Reddy at his office in secretariat here on Friday.
Hyderabad: Kerala Minister for Food & Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs G.R.Anil visited Hyderabad and had a meeting with Telangana Minister for Irrigation & Civil Supplies N. Uttam Kumar Reddy at his office in secretariat here on Friday.
During this meeting, various possible and mutually beneficial Colloborations and possibilities of MoU were discussed between the two States, an official release said here.
Primarily, Kerala state requirements of certain preferred variety of Rice, which is grown in Telangana were discussed. Telangana Minister assured Kerala government that the State will definitely be able to fulfil their Rice requirements at a competitive price and Commissioner & Principal Secretary D S Chauhan, was told to immediately explore the various possibilities and prepare a draft Plan of Action, along with and Kerala Civil Supplies Commissioner Dr D.Sujit Babu.
Both the Senior Officials, who were present in the meeting, later discussed the requirements and other modalities, in detail. Such an agreement, if materialises will be hugely beneficial to both the states. Possibilities of requirements of other food commodities, which are grown in Kerala were also discussed.
Uttam directed the Civil Supplies Department to explore the opportunities to meet the requirements of Kerala state.
