During the past week, police registered five criminal cases in the jurisdictions of Jubilee Hills, Malakpet, Begumbazar, Abids, and Kachiguda police stations, while several vehicles were seized for using fraudulent registration plates. Officials said the enforcement drive will continue across the city.

Special Drive Launched Against Fake Number Plates
The Hyderabad Traffic Police launched the special enforcement drive after receiving an increasing number of complaints from citizens regarding vehicles using fake or tampered registration number plates.
As part of the crackdown, traffic police carried out inspections across different parts of Hyderabad to identify vehicles violating registration plate rules.
Five Criminal Cases Registered Across Hyderabad
During the past week, five criminal cases were registered in the jurisdictions of:
- Jubilee Hills Police Station
- Malakpet Police Station
- Begumbazar Police Station
- Abids Police Station
- Kachiguda Police Station
Police also seized several vehicles found using fraudulent registration number plates.
Only HSRP Number Plates Are Legally Valid
The Hyderabad Traffic Police reiterated that only government-approved High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) are legally valid for vehicles.
Officials warned that the use of fake, altered, tampered, or unauthorised registration number plates would result in:
- Criminal prosecution
- Seizure of the vehicle
The department stressed that strict action would continue against violators.
