UP: 5 killed in road accident in Barabanki

Barabanki: At least 5 people were killed, and three others injured when a van they were travelling in collided with a truck in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki, police said on Monday.

Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh said that Pushpendra Gautam, a resident of Atrauli police station area of Hardoi district, came to the village last night in Deva area Gadia village of Barabanki.

Some people were returning home in a Maruti van after attending barat when the truck collided with the truck near Sehra bridge.

Eight people in the van were seriously injured in the accident.

The injured were rushed to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Lucknow where Chandraprabha, Satyendra, Aaradhya and Kamlesh died during treatment.

The three injured are being treated at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Lucknow.
