Adilabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has reiterated that the Congress government is committed to fill up all vacant posts in Telangana and as part of its endeavour, 15,000 police constable posts will be filled in next 15 days.
Addressing the public meeting at Indervelly mandal headquarters in Adilabad district on Friday, the Chief Minister said that the Congress government would take a responsibility of filling 2 lakh vacant posts in the State and reminded that it had already given 7,000 jobs since it came to power.
Revanth Reddy further stated that two more guarantees, including gas cylinder for Rs 500 and supply of free electricity up to 200 units, out of the six the Congress promised to the people of Telangana, would be implemented soon.
“Currently, the price of a gas cylinder is Rs.1200 and soon, it will be given to women for Rs.500. Similarly, the promise of giving free electricity upto 200 units will be delivered soon,” the Chief Minister said.
Stating that the Congress government is taking various measures for the welfare of women in Telangana, Revanth Reddy said that sofar, loans worth more than Rs.60 crore have been distributed to 1,450 Self Help Groups through the Rural Development department.
Responding to the remarks made by some BRS leaders that former chief minister K Chandrashekar will become Chief Minister in three months again, Revanth Reddy said that nobody has the guts to topple the Congress government.
He explained that the Congress party had already tendered an apology to the people on the atrocities against tribal at Indervelly in 1981 and said that the mistake had happened during the tenure of combined Andhra Pradesh rulers, that’s the reason Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has granted the Telangana State to correct the mistakes that happened then.
Earlier, the Chief Minister visited Nagoba temple and performed special pujas to the presiding deity. Later, he took part in several development programmes.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Konda Surekha, Seethakka and Tummala Nageswara Rao and others were present.
