3 Muslim faqeers made to do sit-ups, chant Jai Shri Ram; video goes viral

One of the locals could be seen in the video heckling the three Muslim faqeers and asking them for their identification details. They were warned to never enter the Pandit village again. The three Muslim men could be seen repeatedly apologising.

Uttar Pradesh: Three Muslim men, looking from their attire as faqeers, were made to do sit-ups and forced to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Khargupur district. They were reportedly asked to show Aadhaar cards.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The Muslim men were also warned to never enter the ‘Pandit’ village again.

A twitter user Ashok Swain shared the video on twitter by writing, “Being born as a Muslim in India has become the worst crime under Hindu right wing regime! Muslim fakirs are being beaten up, abused, and forcibly chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in UP, India.”

An investigation into the matter has been initiated by the police and one person has been arrested. India Today reported.
