Harish Rao Alleges Large-Scale Illegal Mining by Minister Srinivas Reddy’s Firm

The BRS leader claimed that the company does not possess mandatory environmental clearance, a valid mining lease, or a licence to use explosives. He further alleged that no land-use conversion permission was obtained from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former Telangana Minister T. Harish Rao has levelled serious allegations against the Congress government, claiming that large-scale illegal mining is being carried out without statutory permissions by Raghava Constructions, a company allegedly linked to Minister P. Srinivas Reddy.

Addressing the issue on social media, Harish Rao alleged that the mining activities are taking place in the Mansa Hills area of Rajendranagar mandal, near the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

He questioned the silence of key departments such as Revenue, Mining, and the Pollution Control Board, asking why they have failed to act despite what he described as the “looting of crores worth of natural resources” by razing hills in the vicinity of the ORR.

The BRS leader claimed that the company does not possess mandatory environmental clearance, a valid mining lease, or a licence to use explosives. He further alleged that no land-use conversion permission was obtained from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).

Targeting Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Harish Rao accused the government of double standards. He said that while bulldozers are being used against the homes of the poor, the administration has allegedly turned a blind eye to illegal mining activities linked to a minister’s family.

He also questioned Electricity Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Environment Minister Konda Surekha, and Mines Minister Vivek Venkataswamy, asking whether the vigilance wings of their respective departments were inactive or deliberately ignoring the issue.

Harish Rao demanded a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the matter and called upon the government to safeguard public lands and take strict action if violations are found.
