TTD Ghee Tanker Overturns in Andhra Pradesh, 21,000 Liters Taken by Locals
The tanker was reportedly transporting ghee from Pune to Tirupati for the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). The accident took place near the Chitravathi bridge in Kondapuram mandal of Jammalamadugu constituency when the vehicle lost control and overturned.

Hyderabad: An unusual incident occurred in Andhra Pradesh’s Kadapa district when a tanker carrying ghee overturned in a road accident, prompting locals to rush to the spot and collect the spilled ghee.
The tanker was reportedly transporting ghee from Pune to Tirupati for the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). The accident took place near the Chitravathi bridge in Kondapuram mandal of Jammalamadugu constituency when the vehicle lost control and overturned.
As soon as ghee began leaking from the tanker, nearby villagers rushed to the scene carrying utensils, buckets, containers and even large drums to collect it.

Eyewitnesses said people filled whatever containers they had with ghee, and within a short time the tanker was almost emptied.
Reports indicate that the tanker was carrying around 21,500 litres of ghee. Out of this, nearly 21,000 litres were reportedly taken away by locals, leaving only about 500 litres inside the tanker.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and attempted to control the crowd, but by then most of the ghee had already been taken. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
