Indiramma Housing Scheme: 4 Lakh Houses Sanctioned, Govt Plans Permanent Solution to Land Disputes: P Srinivas Reddy
Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the government is implementing a housing revolution and revenue reforms under the Indiramma Housing Scheme with Rs.5 lakh assistance and permanent land dispute solutions.

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the Telangana Government is committed to providing every poor family with a permanent house and ensuring clear land ownership rights to landholders. The Minister announced that the government is ushering in a new era through a housing revolution and revenue reforms, while also planning permanent solutions to land disputes and appointment of additional MROs in mandals with populations exceeding one lakh.

Telangana Government Focuses on Housing Revolution and Revenue Reforms
Addressing a district-wise review meeting on housing and revenue matters on Thursday at the Housing Corporation headquarters, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the government under the leadership of A. Revanth Reddy is working with the vision of bringing lasting change in the lives of poor people.
He stated that a house and land are symbols of dignity for every family and ensuring a secure future for the poor is the government’s objective.
The meeting was attended by Gutha Sukender Reddy, Adluri Laxman Kumar, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Vakiti Srihari, Jupally Krishna Rao, Planning Board Vice Chairman G. Chinna Reddy, Government Advisor Jitender Reddy, MPs, MLCs, MLAs, District Collectors and officials from Housing, Revenue and Forest departments of the erstwhile Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar districts.
Indiramma Housing Scheme Providing Rs.5 Lakh Assistance
The Minister said the prestigious Indiramma Housing Scheme is being implemented to bring a dignified transformation in the lives of poor families.
Under the scheme, financial assistance of Rs.5 lakh is being provided for the construction of houses on beneficiaries’ own lands.
He stated that nearly four lakh houses have already been sanctioned, marking the beginning of a housing revolution across Telangana.
The Minister directed officials to coordinate closely with local public representatives while implementing welfare schemes at the grassroots level and instructed District Collectors to work in line with the government’s objectives.
No Negligence or Irregularities Will Be Tolerated
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy warned that there should be no irregularities in the implementation of Indiramma houses.
He stressed that the scheme must be implemented with complete transparency and accountability so that only eligible beneficiaries receive benefits.
“Any lapses or negligence would not be tolerated,” the Minister warned.
He also instructed officials to ensure timely release of all subsequent instalments to beneficiaries once proceedings are issued and the first bill amount is credited into their accounts.
The Minister directed Collectors to identify lands earlier acquired for housing schemes but left unused and distribute house site pattas to eligible beneficiaries.
Government Considering Relief for Previous Indiramma Beneficiaries
The Minister stated that the government is considering providing another opportunity to beneficiaries who had earlier been sanctioned houses under previous Indiramma schemes but could not complete construction due to various reasons.
Housing Project Directors were directed to discharge their duties with complete accountability and act as coordinators between beneficiaries and senior officials for prompt issue resolution.
He warned that negligence in this regard would be dealt with seriously.
The Minister also instructed officials to complete the selection of beneficiaries for double-bedroom houses by the 20th of this month, irrespective of the stage of construction.
He urged local public representatives to actively participate in the process and ensure only eligible poor families are selected.
Additional MROs to Be Appointed in Telangana
The Minister announced that steps are being taken to construct new buildings for Revenue and Registration offices across Telangana.
District Collectors were directed to establish these offices in locations easily accessible to the public.
He further announced that additional Tahsildars would be appointed in mandals with populations exceeding one lakh, based on necessity, and directed Collectors to prepare proposals accordingly.
Permanent Solution Planned for Land Disputes
The Minister said joint surveys by Revenue, Forest and other departments are the only permanent solution to land disputes between departments.
He instructed officials to expedite action in this direction.
The Minister stated that several unprecedented reforms have been introduced in the Revenue Department and wider powers have been delegated to RDOs.
He warned that strict action would be taken if these powers are misused for purposes other than public grievance redressal.
According to the Minister, the government is implementing comprehensive reforms through the Survey, Settlements and Land Records Department to strengthen land administration across Telangana.
He said bringing transparency and accuracy to land records is the government’s primary objective.
