Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar defended the investigation involving Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son and said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy ordered a fair and impartial probe under a woman DCP officer.

Hyderabad: Transport and BC Welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar defended the Telangana government’s investigation into the allegations against the son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar and said there is no vendetta against the family. In a statement posted on X, Ponnam Prabhakar said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy personally directed DGP C. V. Anand to ensure a fair and impartial investigation under a woman DCP officer without any political interference.

Ponnam Prabhakar Says Bandi Sanjay Should Cooperate With Probe
Ponnam Prabhakar said that instead of alleging a conspiracy and trying to gain sympathy, Bandi Sanjay Kumar should cooperate with the investigation.
“As a Union Minister, you should have been the first to seek a fair and transparent inquiry into the allegations made against your son,” Ponnam Prabhakar stated.
He added that the important questions in the investigation are simple:
- Did the girl meet him or not?
- Was his son in contact with the girl or not?
“These are the facts that must be established,” he said.
The minister further stated that before making political allegations, innocence must first be proven through the investigation.
Telangana Government Will Protect Women and Girls: Ponnam Prabhakar
Ponnam Prabhakar said the Telangana government has no discrimination against anyone and that it is the responsibility of the government to protect the daughters of Telangana.
“In such matters, the Telangana government stands firmly with the victim and will ensure that the women and girls of Telangana feel protected and reassured,” he stated.
He also said no matter how powerful a person may be, those found guilty cannot escape the law.
Revanth Reddy Ordered Thorough Probe: Ponnam Prabhakar
According to Ponnam Prabhakar, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy personally spoke to DGP C. V. Anand and ordered a thorough inquiry into the matter.
The minister stated that the investigation is currently being conducted by a woman DCP officer.
He further said the Chief Minister directed the DGP to ensure the inquiry remains free from external pressure and political interference.
“There will be no political interference and no deviation in the course of the inquiry,” Ponnam Prabhakar said.
He added that if any wrongdoing is established, strict action will be taken against those responsible.
Ponnam Prabhakar Criticises Political Angle in Case
Ponnam Prabhakar stated that bringing BC politics into the issue is “neither appropriate nor necessary.”
He also warned that democracy would not tolerate any attempt to use power or influence to obstruct the investigation.
“Whenever such allegations arise and personal credibility comes into question, one should step forward and seek a fair inquiry,” he said.
Telangana Police Directed to Conduct Impartial Investigation
The minister reiterated that police officials have been instructed to conduct a full and impartial investigation as directed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
“As directed by the Chief Minister, the police have been instructed to conduct a complete and impartial investigation so that the guilty are identified and punished strictly in accordance with the law,” Ponnam Prabhakar stated.
