“Modi Treats Leader of Opposition as Rubber Stamp”: V Hanumantha Rao Alleges Constitutional Violations

V. Hanumantha Rao accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led government of violating the Constitution and treating the Leader of the Opposition like a “rubber stamp.” VH stated that the opinion of the Leader of the Opposition should be considered during the appointment of the CBI Director and praised Rahul Gandhi for writing a letter to the Prime Minister on the issue.

Speaking to media persons in Hyderabad on Wednesday, VH launched sharp criticism against the Modi government and the BJP.

VH Questions CBI Director Appointment Process

V Hanumantha Rao said Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that the Leader of the Opposition is merely a “rubber stamp.”

He stated that:

• The opinion of the Leader of the Opposition should be taken in the appointment of the CBI Director.
• Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter because his opinion was allegedly not taken during the process.

VH said:

“I appreciate Rahul Gandhi for writing a letter to the Prime Minister.”

“Will a Pro-Modi Person Be Appointed as CBI Director?”

VH questioned whether a person favourable to Modi would be appointed as the CBI Director.

He alleged that:

• Narendra Modi gives posts only to those who “do bhajans.”
• The Modi government is violating constitutional values.

VH also stated that he fully supports Rahul Gandhi’s fight on the issue.

BJP Accused of Insulting Constitution and Ambedkar

The Congress leader accused the BJP of insulting:

• Dr. B. R. Ambedkar
• The Constitution

VH also criticized the absence of a BC column in the census and termed it unfair.

“Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas Is a Lie”: VH

V Hanumantha Rao alleged that Narendra Modi has become a “puppet in the hands of the RSS.”

He further claimed:

“‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ is a lie.”

According to VH, only the BJP’s development is taking place under the current government.

Political Remarks Trigger Debate

VH’s comments have added to the ongoing political debate over the role of the Opposition and appointments to constitutional and investigative institutions.

The remarks also come amid continuing political confrontation between the Congress and BJP leadership.
