Ponnam Prabhakar Felicitates Top Government School Students, Pushes ‘Badi Bata’ Campaign

Ponnam Prabhakar attended an Education Workshop in Husnabad and urged Sarpanches to strengthen government schools and increase student enrolment.

Ponnam Prabhakar attended an Education Workshop organized at Vaishya Bhavan in Husnabad as part of the 99-day action plan under the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika and the ongoing Education Week celebrations. The Minister urged Sarpanches and Councillors to play an active role in strengthening government schools, increasing student enrolment, and preventing school dropouts across villages.

The workshop was conducted for Sarpanches and Councillors from Husnabad, Akkannapet, Koheda, and Bejjanki mandals.

Education Workshop Held at Vaishya Bhavan in Husnabad

The programme was organized at Vaishya Bhavan in Husnabad under the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika and Education Week celebrations.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar attended the event as the chief guest and addressed local representatives from:

  • Husnabad mandal
  • Akkannapet mandal
  • Koheda mandal
  • Bejjanki mandal

The Minister stated that the State Government is giving top priority to education, as reflected in the Education Week celebrations recently inaugurated at LB Stadium in Hyderabad.

Minister Calls for Strengthening Government Schools

Ponnam Prabhakar observed that while people seek government jobs and welfare schemes, interest in government education and healthcare institutions is declining.

He stressed that Sarpanches should actively work to transform villages and increase admissions in government schools by discouraging the influx of private school buses into villages.

The Minister urged local representatives to conduct door-to-door campaigns under the “Badi Bata” initiative to ensure every child joins school.

Seven Mandals Reviewed, Committees Formed

The Minister said meetings had recently been conducted across seven mandals.

He informed that five-member committees were formed to:

  • Improve school infrastructure
  • Increase student enrolment
  • Prevent school dropouts
  • Create awareness among parents regarding quality education in government institutions

Development Projects Announced by Minister

Highlighting development initiatives, Ponnam Prabhakar said:

  • An Integrated Residential School with advanced technological facilities is being constructed at Thangalapalli near Koheda at a cost of Rs. 200 crore.
  • A 250-bed hospital is under construction.
  • A branch of Basara Triple IT will be established at Elkathurthi.

The Minister also recalled that significant development work was carried out in Bejjanki during his tenure as Member of Parliament.

He stated that a Satavahana University Engineering College was brought to Husnabad and emphasized that educational institutions shape future generations.

29 Model Schools and Kasturba Schools Established

The Minister said that during his tenure as MP:

  • 29 Model Schools and Kasturba Schools were established
  • The schools were set up across 31 mandals

He reiterated that education and agriculture remain his top priorities.

Appeal to Sarpanches and Parents

Ponnam Prabhakar urged Sarpanches to:

  • Attend Parents-Teachers Meetings regularly
  • Review the atmosphere in schools
  • Encourage sports activities
  • Monitor the availability of basic infrastructure

He stated that government colleges provide quality education and remarked that many parents are spending lakhs of rupees to admit children into private institutions such as Narayana Educational Institutions and Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions.

The Minister appealed to local representatives to strengthen government schools and encourage admissions for the benefit of poor students.

Meritorious Students Felicitated

During the programme, the Minister felicitated meritorious students from:

  • Government Junior Colleges for Boys and Girls
  • Social Welfare Schools
  • Model Schools
  • Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Residential Schools
  • Akkannapet Tribal Schools

The students were honoured for achieving outstanding academic results in the Husnabad constituency.

Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar urged Sarpanches and Councillors at the Husnabad Education Workshop to strengthen government schools, increase admissions, and prevent dropouts under the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika. The Minister also announced major education and healthcare projects, including a Rs. 200 crore Integrated Residential School near Koheda and a 250-bed hospital.
