“Whether a Union Minister or Anyone Else, Mistakes Must Be Punished”: Seethakka on Bandi Bhagirath POCSO Case
Minister Seethakka said no one is above the law while commenting on the POCSO case against Bandi Bhagirath, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

Seethakka reacted strongly to the controversy surrounding the POCSO case against Bandi Bhagirath, son of Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, stating that “whether it is a Union minister or anyone else, if you make a mistake, you have to be punished.”

The Minister said the Congress government was not negligent in the Bandi Bhagirath case and clarified that a POCSO case was registered immediately after receiving the complaint from the victim’s family.
Seethakka Says No One Is Above Law
Speaking in Mahabubabad, Seethakka said:
- “Whether it is a Union minister or a prime minister, if you make a mistake, you have to be punished.”
- “The Congress government was not negligent in the Bhagirath case.”
She stated that the accused must cooperate with the investigation and appear before police officials for questioning.
One-Day Delay Due to Narendra Modi Visit
Seethakka admitted that there was a one-day delay in registering the case.
According to the Minister, the delay occurred because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.
She clarified that the formation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) was intended to uncover facts in the case and not to delay the investigation.
POCSO Case Registered Against Bandi Bhagirath
A POCSO case was registered against Bandi Bhagirath following a complaint filed by the family members of the girl.
According to the allegations, the girl was sexually assaulted by Bhagirath.
The case is currently under investigation by the SIT.
Bhagirath Asked to Appear Before Police
Officials had directed Bandi Bhagirath to appear before police for questioning on Wednesday.
However, Bhagirath reportedly sent an email and letter to officials of the Pet Basheerabad Police and SIT stating that he would appear for questioning on May 15 due to personal reasons.
According to the report, Bhagirath has been absconding since the registration of the case.
Minister Appeals to Political Families
Seethakka appealed to families with political backgrounds to respect women and show love towards people.
She emphasized that everyone must follow the law regardless of political status or influence.
