Balapur POCSO Case: Hyderabad Court Awards Life Imprisonment to Main Accused, Rs 4 Lakh Compensation to Victim
Hyderabad court sentenced Mohammad Azeem to life imprisonment in a Balapur POCSO case. Two others received three-year jail terms and fines.

Nagar, convicted three accused in a Balapur POCSO case registered in Crime No. 388/2021 under Sections 312, 376(2)(n), 506 read with 109 IPC and Section 5 read with 6 of the POCSO Act, 2012. Three Convicted in Balapur POCSO Case
According to a press note issued by Hyderabad City Police on May 15, 2026, the convicted accused are:
- A1) Mohammad Azeem, son of Mohammad Saleem, aged 25 years, occupation: Sentring Mason, caste: Muslim, resident of H No. 18-131/11, Abubakar Colony, Kothapet village, Balapur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District.
- A2) Mohammad Haleem, son of Mohammad Saleem, aged 31 years, occupation: Labour, resident of Abubakar Colony, Kothapet village, Balapur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District.
- A3) Smt. Jameela Begum, wife of Mohammad Saleem, aged 60 years, occupation: Housewife, resident of Abubakar Colony, Kothapet village, Balapur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District.
The case was registered at Balapur Police Station vide Crime No. 388/2021.
Court Sentences Main Accused to Life Imprisonment
The Hon’ble Fast Track Special Judge at L.B. Nagar convicted the accused under Sections 312, 376(2)(n), 506 read with 109 IPC and Section 5 read with 6 of the POCSO Act, 2012.
The court sentenced:
- Mohammad Azeem (A1) to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 22,000.
- Mohammad Haleem (A2) and Smt. Jameela Begum (A3) to three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 6,000 each.
The court also awarded compensation of Rs 4,00,000 to the victim.
Minor Victim’s Mother Filed Complaint
According to the complaint, the victim girl was aged 16 years.
The complainant, who is the mother of the victim, stated that her marriage was solemnized with Shaik Arshad and they were blessed with two daughters and one son.
Due to family disputes, she had been living separately with her children and working as a maid servant.
The complainant stated that while she attended work, her children stayed at her mother’s house in Abubakar Colony.
One day, when she visited her mother’s house, she found her elder daughter crying. On questioning her, the girl allegedly revealed that her brother Mohammad Azeem had forcibly sexually assaulted her several times by threatening her with dire consequences.
Victim Found Pregnant, Forced to Consume Tablets
The press note stated that the victim later suffered severe stomach pain and was taken to a hospital, where doctors found that she was pregnant.
After learning about the incident, the complainant allegedly admonished her mother and brothers, who then threatened both the complainant and the victim with dire consequences.
It was further alleged that the victim’s mother and brothers brought pregnancy tablets and forcibly made the minor consume them by threatening her, resulting in miscarriage.
Following the incident, the complainant requested police to take legal action against the accused as per law.

Hyderabad City Police stated that the conviction was achieved through the efforts of several police officers and Bharosa officials.
The investigating officers included:

Police stated that all officials contributed immensely during the course of the trial that ended in conviction.
