Charminar Police Crack Down on Encroachments, Court Sentences Two in Hyderabad

Charminar Police intensified anti-encroachment action in Hyderabad as court sentenced two persons in digital e-petty cases for obstructing public roads and footpaths.

Hyderabad: Charminar Police continued strict action against encroachments and public obstruction on roads and footpaths in the busy Charminar area of Hyderabad. In two separate digital e-petty cases, the First Special Judicial Magistrate Court at Gandhi Bhavan, Hyderabad, convicted two accused persons and awarded jail sentences along with fines for causing obstruction to pedestrians, traffic movement, and public pathways.

Court Action in Digital E-Petty Cases

The action was taken in cases registered against illegal encroachments on public roads and footpaths in the highly crowded Charminar area.

According to police, the cases were booked under the digital e-petty system used for quick action against public nuisance and encroachments.

Meharnisa Convicted Under BNS Sections 66C and 223

In the first case, Meharnisa, a resident of Khilwat, Charminar, was arrested under:

  • Section 66C of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)
  • Section 223 of BNS

Police alleged that she caused serious obstruction to pedestrians and smooth traffic movement.

The case was heard by:

  • M. Bhaskar
    • In-charge Magistrate

The court convicted Meharnisa and sentenced her to:

  • One day simple imprisonment
  • Rs. 100 fine

Syed Abdul Aamer Sentenced for Illegal Commercial Structure

In the second case, Syed Abdul Aamer, also a resident of Khilwat, Charminar, was arrested under:

  • Sections 27/76 of BNS
  • Section 223 of BNS

Police alleged that he had set up an illegal commercial structure on a public road near a historical monument.

The court found him guilty and awarded:

  • Two days simple imprisonment
  • Rs. 100 fine

Investigation Conducted by Police Officials

According to police, the investigation in the cases was conducted by:

  • Sub-Inspector K. Raj Shekhar
  • Court Duty Officer Mahender

After the court verdict, both accused were sent to judicial custody to complete their sentences.

Charminar Police Warn Against Public Encroachments

SHO T. Ram Babu stated that encroachments on public roads and footpaths around Charminar have become a major issue for:

  • Public safety
  • Tourist convenience
  • Emergency vehicle movement

He said Charminar Police are using the digital e-petty system for immediate action against violators.

According to him, the court punishments send a strong message that strict legal action will be taken against people creating obstruction on public pathways.

Police Appeal to Traders and Shopkeepers

Police appealed to traders and shopkeepers to conduct business only in permitted areas and cooperate in keeping public roads and footpaths clean and obstruction-free.
