Hyderabad: A man was arrested for rash driving after allegedly injuring a police constable at Hitech City in Hyderabad during the early hours of Saturday, May 23. The incident took place at around 12:30 AM when the constable attempted to stop a car that was allegedly creating nuisance on the road. According to the Raidurgam police, the driver intentionally hit the constable, causing a fractured hand. The accused was later arrested.

According to police officials, the incident occurred in the Hitech City area under the limits of Raidurgam Police at approximately 12:30 AM on Saturday, May 23.

Police said the car driver was allegedly creating ruckus on the street when a police constable tried to intervene and stop the vehicle.

The situation escalated after the driver allegedly refused to stop the car.

A video related to the incident was widely shared on social media platforms.

The video reportedly showed the constable smashing the car with his baton after the driver allegedly refused to stop despite police intervention.

The incident triggered discussions online, with several media reports claiming that the police action was linked to a crackdown on bikes using modified silencers.

Raidurgam Police Deny Claims About Silencer Crackdown

However, the Raidurgam Police denied the reports claiming that the action was taken against bikes using silencers.

Clarifying the incident, the Raidurgam SHO said:

“The car driver was creating ruckus on the street, when the constable tried to intervene, the driver hit him intentionally, leaving the constable with a fractured hand.”

Police confirmed that the accused driver was arrested for rash driving and for injuring the police constable.

According to the police statement, the injured constable sustained a fractured hand after being hit by the car during the incident at Hitech City.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
