CPI (Maoist) Central Committee member Pasunuri Narahari alias Vishwanath surrendered before Telangana DGP CV Anand in Hyderabad along with his wife Medara Danamma alias Latha.

Hyderabad: In a major setback to the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist), Central Committee member Pasunuri Narahari alias Vishwanath surrendered before CV Anand in Hyderabad on Tuesday, May 26. Narahari’s wife, Medara Danamma alias Latha, who is a State Committee member, also surrendered before the police.

Pasunuri Narahari Served as BJSAC Secretary
According to police officials, Pasunuri Narahari (64) was serving as the Secretary of the CPI (Maoist) Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee (BJSAC).
Police described the surrender as a further setback to the outlawed Maoist organization.
Maoist Leader Born in Hanumakonda District
Officials stated that Narahari was born in Somidi village in Kazipet mandal, Hanumakonda district, Telangana.
His wife, Medara Danamma, also known as Latha, is a member of the State Committee and surrendered alongside him before Telangana Police.
Telangana DGP CV Anand Shares Maoist Surrender Figures
Telangana Director General of Police CV Anand said that a total of 264 Maoist cadres have surrendered in Telangana so far this year.
The DGP further stated that only three active underground cadres from Telangana are currently working in different formations of CPI (Maoist) outside the state.
According to Anand, one among them is Central Committee Member Muppala Laxman Rao alias Ganapathi.

The development comes amid continued Maoist surrenders in Telangana.
Recently, surrendered Maoist leader Devji had reportedly expressed interest in pursuing law.
CPI (Maoist) Central Committee member Pasunuri Narahari alias Vishwanath surrendered before Telangana DGP CV Anand in Hyderabad on May 26, along with his wife Medara Danamma alias Latha. Narahari, who served as Secretary of the CPI (Maoist) Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee, is among the 264 Maoist cadres who have surrendered in Telangana this year, according to police.
