CM Revanth Reddy Discusses BharatNet Program with Jyotiraditya Scindia to Expand High-Speed Internet in Rural Telangana

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy discussed the Amended BharatNet Program and T-Fiber expansion with Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to improve rural broadband connectivity.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy raised several key issues with Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia regarding the smooth implementation of the Amended BharatNet Program aimed at providing uninterrupted high-speed broadband connectivity to rural areas of Telangana.

The Chief Minister discussed the need for signing the agreement related to the program at the earliest and requested the immediate release of pending funds.

Revanth Reddy Holds Video Conference on T-Fiber Project

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, along with Minister D. Sridhar Babu, held a video conference with Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia regarding the implementation of the T-Fiber project in Telangana under the Amended BharatNet Program.

During the meeting, the Telangana Government requested a clear policy regarding the transfer of mandal to gram panchayat ring network systems to the Digital Bharat Nidhi.

Scindia reportedly responded positively and assured full cooperation from the Central Government in this matter.

Focus on High-Speed Internet for Every Village and Household

The video conference discussed Telangana’s vision of providing quality high-speed internet connectivity to every village and every household in the state.

The Union Minister assured that the Centre would extend complete support to help Telangana achieve its connectivity goals.

Telangana Plans SPV for BharatNet Agreement

As part of the Amended BharatNet Program (ABP), Telangana plans to establish a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to enter into an agreement with the Central Government.

The proposed SPV would help develop a large-scale high-speed network suited to the requirements of rural areas across Telangana.

T-Fiber Network to Be Developed as Ring Architecture

The Telangana Government stated that under the integrated digital policy, the T-Fiber network would be expanded by connecting every gram panchayat through a ring architecture system.

Officials explained that even if one network route is disrupted, services would continue through an alternative route under the ring architecture model.

This system is expected to ensure uninterrupted high-speed broadband services for rural Telangana.

Digital Connectivity to Be Restored in 3,089 Villages

In the first phase of the project, digital connectivity will be restored in 3,089 villages located in the undivided districts of:

  • Nizamabad
  • Ranga Reddy
  • Khammam

where the network had reportedly been damaged.

The government stated that the Amended BharatNet Program would help connect villages while creating future-ready fiber network infrastructure capable of delivering services equal to other high-speed network areas in the state.
