Vijaya Milk Supply for 27 Lakh Students Discussed

Speaking during the meeting, Bhatti Vikramarka discussed the current milk consumption in the state and the government’s proposal to provide milk to 27 lakh students studying in different schools.

In this context, he directed officials to prepare accurate data regarding the total milk production in Telangana.

The Deputy Chief Minister instructed officials across the state to conduct field-level verification and identify the actual number of milk-yielding animals.

He also directed the concerned officials to calculate the actual milk production from these animals and submit a comprehensive report during the next review meeting.

No Pending Payments for Dairy Farmers

Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized that there should be a clear policy regarding the price paid for milk procured from farmers.

He instructed officials to ensure that dairy farmers receive payments regularly without any pending dues.

The Deputy Chief Minister also directed that bills related to milk supplied to schools should be transferred directly by the welfare departments to the concerned departments. He said this mechanism would ensure that farmers do not face payment delays or pending bills.

Dairy Industry Is a Lifeline for Rural Families

The deputy Chief minister said that many people in rural areas depend heavily on the dairy sector for their livelihood.

He noted that timely payments to dairy farmers would strengthen their families financially and increase their confidence in supplying milk to dairy cooperatives.

Bhatti Vikramarka stressed that Telangana should adopt modern methods to make the dairy industry profitable and significantly increase milk production.

He further stated that the government should take all necessary measures to provide additional livelihood opportunities to farmers through dairy farming, apart from agriculture.
