At the Special Battalions Headquarters in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, DGP C.V. Anand conducted a high-level review meeting on the functioning of the Special Police Battalions.

Recalling the contribution of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Special Police, the DGP said the force served as the backbone of the civil police during operations against Naxalism.
Drawing from his experience as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Nizamabad and Warangal, Anand praised the battalions for their courage and contribution in eliminating the Naxal threat, particularly during a period when police stations were frequently targeted by Naxalites.
13 Special Police Battalions Developed Since Telangana’s Formation
The DGP said Telangana has developed 13 Special Police Battalions since the formation of the state.
He appreciated their contribution in:

- Festival security
- Event management
- VIP protection
- Disaster relief operations

C.V. Anand particularly commended the Special Police Battalions for their rescue and relief work during the recent floods in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts.
He said the personnel helped evacuate thousands of residents and protected lives and property during the disaster.
