A mystery explosion severely damaged a house in Bapu Nagar, Road No. 4, under the Saroornagar Police Station limits in Hyderabad on Tuesday morning. The house, owned by retired bank employee Devender, suffered extensive damage after a powerful blast believed to have occurred in the kitchen at around 10:30 a.m. Despite the intensity of the explosion, Devender, his wife and son escaped without injuries. Police, HYDRAA personnel and other officials have launched an investigation, while the exact cause of the blast remains unconfirmed.

Powerful Blast Damages House in Saroornagar

The explosion occurred at the residence of Devender, a retired bank employee, located at Road No. 4, Bapu Nagar, under the Saroornagar Police Station limits in Hyderabad.

According to the information available, Devender has been living in the house with his wife and son for the past 24 years.

The blast reportedly took place in the kitchen at around 10:30 a.m., sending shockwaves through the neighbourhood and triggering panic among local residents.

Family Escapes Without Injuries

Although the explosion caused severe structural damage, all three family members escaped safely without any injuries.

Neighbours rushed to the house immediately after hearing the loud explosion and safely evacuated the family before emergency teams reached the spot.

Authorities confirmed that there were no injuries or fatalities.

House Suffers Extensive Damage

The powerful blast caused major destruction inside the house.

According to preliminary information:

  • One kitchen wall was completely blown apart.
  • Several other walls developed cracks.
  • Doors and window panes were shattered due to the force of the explosion.

Initial inspections also revealed that:

  • Three LPG cylinders inside the house did not explode.
  • A refrigerator remained intact.
  • A geyser also remained intact.

The condition of these appliances has made the exact cause of the explosion unclear.

Police and HYDRAA Launch Investigation

Following the incident, Saroornagar Police and HYDRAA personnel rushed to the scene and began an investigation.

A case has been registered, and officials are probing the source of the mysterious explosion.

Saroornagar Inspector N. Srisailam said police suspect a possible gas leak, but clarified that the exact cause has not yet been confirmed.

A detailed investigation is underway to determine what triggered the blast.
