Police have clarified that Raj Kumar, the prime accused in the Shabad POCSO case and the alleged murder of six members of a family, remains absconding despite reports circulating on Sunday that he had been arrested by the Special Operations Team (SOT).

Senior police officials stated that the accused has not yet been apprehended and that an extensive manhunt involving 14 special teams is underway to trace his whereabouts.
Investigators revealed that shortly after the murders, Raj Kumar allegedly went to the Thimmapur railway tracks with the intention of ending his life. According to police, he stood on the tracks waiting for a train to arrive but abandoned the suicide attempt at the last moment. The entire episode was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras installed near the railway track.
Police have also discovered that the accused had been using four mobile phones and as many as 16 SIM cards. Authorities believe that Raj Kumar switched off all the devices immediately after committing the crime in an attempt to evade detection.

As part of the ongoing search operation, police teams are conducting inspections at hotels and lodges located along the Bengaluru and Srisailam highways, suspecting that the accused may be using these routes to move between locations.
Officials said that Raj Kumar had previously spent extended periods in Srisailam, prompting a police team to search the area. However, the operation did not yield any leads, and the team returned empty-handed.
Meanwhile, members of the accused’s family and several of his close associates have been taken into custody for questioning as investigators attempt to gather information that could lead to his arrest.
Police reiterated that the search operation is continuing on a war footing with 14 special teams working across multiple locations to apprehend the accused at the earliest.
