CID Case Filed Against Former Minister Ambati Rambabu Over AI Video
The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) has registered a case against former minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Ambati Rambabu over an alleged AI-generated video depicting Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar in handcuffs.
Mangalagiri: The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) has registered a case against former minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Ambati Rambabu over an alleged AI-generated video depicting Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar in handcuffs.
The case was registered at the Mangalagiri CID office following a complaint lodged by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders.
According to the complaint, Ambati Rambabu allegedly posted an AI-generated video on social media that showed Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar in handcuffs. TDP leaders alleged that the video was intended to embarrass and tarnish the Union Minister’s image.

The complaint reportedly sought action over the creation and circulation of the video, alleging that it was used to target the Union Minister politically.
Following the complaint, the CID registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter. Officials are expected to examine the video, its source, how it was created and circulated, and the circumstances surrounding its publication.
The case comes amid continuing political differences between the ruling TDP-led alliance and the opposition YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh.
