Khammam: A young man from New Lakshmipuram village in Mudigonda mandal reportedly attempted suicide, allegedly distressed over the delay in the release of government job notifications in Telangana.
The youth, identified as Venu Kumar, was preparing for Group examinations and had reportedly been hoping to secure a government job. He is said to have taken the extreme step out of frustration over the delay in recruitment notifications.
The incident has triggered renewed criticism over the Congress government’s election promises regarding government employment. According to local reports, the youth and other job aspirants had expected the government to fulfil its promise of providing two lakh government jobs every year and implementing a job calendar.
