Water to Future City from Uddandapur Reservoir Under Palamuru-Rangareddy Project
Officials are working on a plan to pump 3.89 TMC of water from the Uddandapur Reservoir to the trunk line near Kondurg. From there, the water will be transported through Raghavapur, Antarvedi and Kammadanam before reaching the Kodangal Water Treatment Plant.
The Telangana government is preparing plans to supply water to the proposed Future City from the Uddandapur Reservoir, which is part of the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme developed during the previous K. Chandrashekar Rao-led government.
Officials are working on a plan to pump 3.89 TMC of water from the Uddandapur Reservoir to the trunk line near Kondurg. From there, the water will be transported through Raghavapur, Antarvedi and Kammadanam before reaching the Kodangal Water Treatment Plant.
The government has also decided to utilise water from the same reservoir to meet the requirements of industrial corridors being developed in Sitarampur and Chandanvelli.
According to the proposed plan, water treated at the Kodangal Water Treatment Plant will be supplied not only to the industrial corridors but also to several surrounding areas. These include Shadnagar, Chevella, Vikarabad and Parigi constituencies.

The move is aimed at ensuring a reliable water supply for the rapidly developing industrial and urban areas in the region. The proposed Future City and industrial corridors are expected to generate significant demand for water as infrastructure and commercial activities expand.
Officials are currently working on the technical and logistical arrangements required to connect the Uddandapur Reservoir with the trunk pipeline and the Kodangal Water Treatment Plant.
The planned utilisation of the Uddandapur Reservoir is expected to play an important role in meeting the long-term water requirements of Future City, industrial corridors and surrounding constituencies.
