The Telangana High Court has once again issued contempt notices to Hyderabad Commissioner A.V. Ranganath in connection with allegations of illegal constructions at OUC College, located in the Salkam Cheruvu area.

The notices were also issued to Special Secretary of Municipal Administration Jayesh Ranjan and several senior officials from the Education, Revenue and Irrigation departments.
The contempt petition was filed alleging that despite the availability of evidence indicating that OUC College was constructed illegally in the Salkam Cheruvu area, the concerned authorities had failed to take action in accordance with earlier court directions.

During the hearing, the petitioners brought to the court’s attention that the officials had allegedly not implemented the orders issued by the High Court. They argued that the continued inaction amounted to contempt of court.
After hearing the petition, the High Court issued contempt notices to Jayesh Ranjan, A.V. Ranganath and other senior officials concerned, seeking their response to the allegations.
The court also took note of the claims regarding the alleged construction over the water body and the failure of the authorities to initiate action despite previous directions.
The judge adjourned the matter and scheduled the next hearing for August 11.
The officials named in the contempt proceedings will now be required to respond to the allegations and explain the reasons for the alleged non-compliance with the court’s directions.
