Telangana High Court Pulls Up HYDRAA Over Demolition Without Notice, Seeks Records from Revenue Officials
The observations came while hearing a petition filed by Pemmasani Sudharani, who challenged HYDRAA's demolition of the boundary wall and watchman's room surrounding her 350-square-yard plot in Survey No. 60, Kondapur, Serilingampally Mandal, Ranga Reddy district.
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has strongly reprimanded HYDRAA and revenue officials over the alleged demolition of a property in Kondapur without issuing prior notices to the affected party.
The observations came while hearing a petition filed by Pemmasani Sudharani, who challenged HYDRAA’s demolition of the boundary wall and watchman’s room surrounding her 350-square-yard plot in Survey No. 60, Kondapur, Serilingampally Mandal, Ranga Reddy district.
Counsel for the petitioner informed the court that no notice was served before the demolition. The lawyer further argued that even the counter affidavit filed by HYDRAA did not mention that any notice had been issued to the petitioner.
Expressing serious displeasure, the High Court questioned the authorities over the manner in which the demolition was carried out.

“What is this? Carrying out demolitions without issuing notices? If notices are issued, the affected parties may approach the court. Are you demolishing properties overnight without giving them an opportunity to seek legal remedy?” the court remarked while criticizing HYDRAA and the revenue officials.
During the hearing, the judge also sought clarification on how the land had been identified as government property. The present Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) informed the court that the previous MRO had certified the land as government land.
Taking note of the submission, the High Court directed the former MRO who had declared the land as government property to appear before the court with all relevant records. The matter has been adjourned for further hearing until August 11.
