Hyderabad: A special programme was organised at Gandhi Bhavan to mark the completion of five years of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The programme was organised by Congress Party’s Chandrayangutta Assembly Constituency Incharge, Shri Boya Naresh. Several senior Congress leaders and party workers attended the programme and expressed their views on the significance and objectives of the Bharat Jodo Yatra and its contribution towards strengthening the unity and integrity of the country.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Karwan Assembly Constituency Incharge, Janab Osman Bin Mohammed Al Hajri, said that Rahul Gandhi had undertaken the historic Bharat Jodo Yatra with the objective of uniting the country, bringing people closer together and working towards ending the politics of hatred and division.
Recalling his own participation in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Janab Osman Bin Mohammed Al Hajri said that he had the opportunity to be an active part of this historic journey. He travelled on foot along with Rahul Gandhi and other leaders and party workers from the Karnataka border up to the Maharashtra border, interacting with people and closely experiencing their concerns, sentiments and aspirations.
He said that witnessing thousands of people belonging to different religions, communities, linguistic groups and regions come together with a common purpose was an extremely inspiring experience. The love, enthusiasm and spirit with which people welcomed the Bharat Jodo Yatra clearly demonstrated that the people of India want peace, love, brotherhood and unity.
He said that attempts are being made in the country to divide people in the name of religion, caste and various identities and to create an atmosphere of hatred in society. Such divisive forces seek to weaken the unity, harmony and brotherhood of the country by creating divisions among the people.
Janab Osman Bin Mohammed Al Hajri said that Rahul Gandhi had raised a strong voice against such forces of hatred and division and conveyed the message of love, brotherhood, national unity and humanity across the country. He said that Rahul Gandhi’s message of “opening a shop of love in the marketplace of hatred” has become even more relevant and significant in the present circumstances.
He said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra was not merely a political journey, but a historic movement aimed at strengthening the unity, integrity and composite Ganga-Jamuni culture of the country. The Yatra played an important role in bringing people from different regions, communities and sections of society closer to one another and promoting mutual trust and brotherhood.
Janab Osman Bin Mohammed Al Hajri said that Rahul Gandhi’s message is clear: hatred must be answered with love, division with unity, and despair with hope. He said that the progress and prosperity of the country can be ensured only when people belonging to every section, religion and community are taken along in the journey of nation-building.
He appealed to Congress workers to take the core objectives of the Bharat Jodo Yatra and Rahul Gandhi’s message of love, brotherhood, peace and national unity to every household and to contribute wholeheartedly towards building a strong, united, peaceful and inclusive India where everyone moves forward together.
