The Yonex Sunrise 12th Telangana State Junior (U-19) Badminton Championship 2026 concluded on Sunday at Adira Badminton Academy, Manikonda, with young shuttlers from across the state delivering impressive performances over the three-day tournament held from June 26 to 28.

The closing ceremony was attended by V. Chamundeswara Nath, President of the Badminton Association of Hyderabad (BAH); Jakkula Srinivas, CEO of Truzon Solar and tournament sponsor; Kanuri Vamsidhar, General Secretary of BAH and Treasurer of the Badminton Association of Telangana (BAT); U.V.N. Babu, Joint Secretary (Events & Protocol), BAT; Tara Prashanth Chandra, Member, BAH; P. Sudhakar, Observer, BAT; L. Ravi Kumar, Joint Secretary, BAT; Bangaru Babu, Member, BAH; Naga Veni, Treasurer, BAH; and Shikaram Srinivas, Promoter and Owner of Adira Badminton Academy, who felicitated the medal winners.
In the Boys’ Singles Under-19 final, Akhil Reddy Bobba (Ranga Reddy) defeated Shashnak Vanamala (Nalgonda) 15-11, 15-11 to clinch the title. In the third-place playoff, Sai Nachiketh Bhatraju (Sangareddy) overcame Sri Adithya Harshavardhan (Mancherial) after the latter retired while trailing 10-15.
The Girls’ Singles Under-19 title was won by Avni Vikram Govind (Ranga Reddy), who defeated Sarayu Suryaneni (Hyderabad) 15-12, 15-8 in the final. Hamsini Chadaram (Medchal) secured third place after beating Praanjala Nisarga (Ranga Reddy) 15-9, 8-15, 15-5.

In the Boys’ Doubles final, Sai Siddharth Rayaprolu (Hyderabad) and Showrya Kiran J (Warangal) edged past G. Santosh and N.J. Joel (MDBA) 15-13, 16-14 to lift the championship.
The Girls’ Doubles crown went to Aaradhya Reddy Hanumaiah Gari and Akshaya Chowdary Aluru (Kamareddy), who defeated Anusanjana Murali and Gade Stuthi Grace (Medchal) 15-11, 15-13.
In the Mixed Doubles final, Sai Siddharth Rayaprolu and Lakshmi Ridhima Devineni (Hyderabad) emerged champions after defeating Showrya Kiran J (Warangal) and Aaradhya Reddy Hanumaiah Gari (Kamareddy) 15-11, 15-11.
The championship witnessed spirited competition from promising young badminton players across Telangana, highlighting the state’s growing talent pool in the sport.
