Another setback for Azam Khan: UP Cabinet Reclaims Land from Maulana Mohd Ali Jauhar Trust

Rampur: The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, in another setback for Azam Khan’s Maulana Mohd Ali Jauhar Trust in Rampur, has approved the reclamation of approximately 41,181 square feet of land granted to the trust in September 2006 and February 2007 through two government orders.

This land had been leased for 30 years with an annual payment of Rs 100. Cabinet Minister Suresh Khanna explained that the land was initially allocated for the University’s expansion but was found to be used for a political party’s office, leading to a violation of the allocation terms.

As a result, the land and building have been canceled, and its possession will be transferred to the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Department, where the offices of the District Inspector of School and the Basic Education Office are also situated.
