Cyberabad Police launched the Student Mobility Programme and Student Portal during a Campus Compliance Workshop in Gachibowli to improve safe student transportation through coordinated stakeholder efforts.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police on Sunday conducted a Campus Compliance Workshop at the Engineering Staff College, Gachibowli, as part of the Student Mobility Programme (SMP), an initiative aimed at establishing a comprehensive, systematic and safe transportation system for students travelling between their homes and educational institutions. During the event, a Student Portal was also launched to connect educational institutions and government departments on a single digital platform.

Addressing the workshop, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr. M. Ramesh said student safety is a collective responsibility and stressed the need to ensure safety throughout a student’s journey from home to school and back.
He said the Student Mobility Programme (SMP) is not merely a traffic management initiative but a comprehensive programme dedicated to protecting students’ lives.
Dr. Ramesh stated that a safe transportation system for students can only be achieved through the coordinated efforts of:
- Educational institutions
- Parents
- Transport operators
- Police
- Transport Department
- Education Department
- TGSRTC
He also urged every educational institution to strictly implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relating to student transportation.

Campus Compliance Workshop Based on Survey of 520 Educational Institutions
Officials said the Campus Compliance Workshop was organised after:
- A comprehensive survey of more than 520 educational institutions in Cyberabad.
- Consultations with representatives from more than 750 educational institutions.
- A successful pilot project involving more than 500 students.
They said the Student Mobility Programme was developed based on these studies to identify challenges faced during student commutes and to create permanent solutions.

The workshop included detailed discussions on:

- Ensuring student transport safety.

Officials said the newly launched Student Portal will connect educational institutions and government departments through a single digital platform.
According to the officials, the portal will help improve:
- Student transport safety management
- Grievance redressal
- Information exchange
- Service coordination
- Monitoring
They added that the primary objective of the Student Mobility Programme is to establish a safe, organised and accountable student transportation system, ultimately transforming Cyberabad into a model for student mobility across the country.
