New Delhi: A fire broke out at a cotton and clothes waste godown at Sanjay Colony near Harkesh Nagar in Okhla phase II at the wee hours of Friday.
A call was received about the fire at around 3:53 am, on this information, 18 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire, said Atul Garg, Director, Delhi Fire Service.
The fire incident occurred in cotton, thread and clothes waste godown inside basement, ground and first floor of the building.
“The building has an area of around 1,200 square yards. It has a basement, ground floor and two-storey where the cotton and clothes waste had caught fire but the blaze has been controlled. No casualty has been reported so far,” said Garg. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
