HYDRAA Removes Encroachments on 5 Acres in Marripalli Lake, Installs Fencing to Protect 31.05-Acre Water Body

HYDRAA removed encroachments from Marripalli Lake in Abdullapurmet Mandal, Ranga Reddy district, cleared sheds, fenced FTL boundaries, and protected the 31.05-acre lake after a Prajavani complaint.

Hyderabad: HYDRAA has removed encroachments from Marripalli Lake in Marripalli Village, Abdullapurmet Mandal, Ranga Reddy district, after verifying complaints regarding illegal occupation within the lake’s Full Tank Level (FTL) limits. The encroachment involved filling approximately 5 acres of the lake area with soil, construction of worker sheds within the FTL limits, and alleged occupation of lake land. Following a complaint received through Prajavani, HYDRAA conducted a field-level inquiry with concerned officials, removed the encroachments, and installed fencing to prevent future occupation.

The operation was carried out on Tuesday and measures have been initiated to protect the lake spread area of 31.05 acres, as per HMDA records.

Encroachment Allegedly Carried Out Within Marripalli Lake FTL Limits

According to HYDRAA officials, a person who owns patta land adjacent to the lake allegedly established an RMC (Ready Mix Concrete) unit on his patta land and began filling soil within the FTL limits of Marripalli Lake.

Officials stated that:

  • Soil was dumped inside the lake area.
  • Worker sheds were constructed within the FTL limits.
  • An attempt was allegedly made to occupy approximately 5 acres of lake land by filling it with soil.

The matter came to the attention of HYDRAA following a complaint submitted through Prajavani.

HYDRAA Conducts Field Inquiry After Prajavani Complaint

After receiving the complaint, HYDRAA conducted a detailed field-level inspection along with the concerned government officials.

The inquiry reportedly confirmed the encroachments within the lake area. Based on the findings, HYDRAA initiated action to restore and protect the lake boundaries.

Worker Sheds Removed, FTL Boundaries Secured

As part of the enforcement operation carried out on Tuesday, HYDRAA removed the sheds constructed for workers within the lake’s FTL limits.

The agency also:

  • Identified and marked the FTL boundaries.
  • Installed fencing along the protected lake area.
  • Ensured that future encroachments would not take place.

Officials stated that fencing was installed specifically to prevent any further occupation attempts.

HYDRAA Directs Removal of Soil Dumped in Lake Area

HYDRAA has directed that the soil dumped inside the lake be removed.

At the same time, authorities provided access routes to ensure that agricultural activities on nearby farmland could continue without obstruction.

The agency clarified that protection of the lake would be carried out while allowing legitimate access for farming operations.

Marripalli Lake Spread Area Measures 31.05 Acres

According to HMDA records, Marripalli Lake has a total extent of 31.05 acres.

HYDRAA stated that the actions taken were aimed at protecting the entire lake area and preserving the water body from future encroachments.
