Four more Crest Gates of Himayat Sagar Lifted

According to HMWS&SB officials, the water level at the reservoir was recorded at 1,763.50 feet against the Full Tank Level of 1,763.50 feet and the water body was receiving 4,200 cusecs of inflow.

Hyderabad: With the water levels rising in the Himayat Sagar and reaching the full tank level, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has opened four more gates of the reservoir, today.

As on date, six out of the 17 gates of the reservoir are open. According to HMWS&SB officials, the water level at the reservoir was recorded at 1,763.50 feet against the Full Tank Level of 1,763.50 feet and the water body was receiving 4,200 cusecs of inflow. The reservoir capacity is 2.97 TMC.

At Osman Sagar too, the water level had reached the Full tank Level 1,790 feet. The reservoir capacity is 3.90 TMC. The water body was receiving 1,360 cusecs of inflow and four gates of the reservoir were kept open, officials said.

HMWS&SB, which opened the gates upto two feet on Monday, further lifted them up to three feet by Tuesday.  As the twin reservoirs are receiving abundant inflows, the water is being drained into Musi River by lifting the gates.
