Free updation of Aadhaar Card: date extended

The deadline for free updating of Aadhaar cards has been extended to September 14, 2023, providing relief to the general public who couldn’t update their cards by the previous deadline of June 14.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) emphasizes the importance of updating Aadhaar cards with the latest demographic information for continued accuracy. If your Aadhaar card was issued ten years ago and has never been updated, it is mandatory to update your demographic details by uploading proof of identity and proof of address documents.

According to the UIDAI, there are various situations in life that may require updating demographic details. Events like marriage can lead to changes in name and address, while migration to new locations may result in address and mobile number changes. Residents may also need to update their relative’s details due to life events such as marriage or the death of a family member.

Additionally, individuals may have personal reasons for changing their mobile number, email address, and more. To ensure the accuracy of your Aadhaar card, it is crucial to update your demographic details as needed.
