Hyderabad, Telangana: In a strong warning during the Oral Cancer Awareness Marathon in Hyderabad, Duddilla Sridhar Babu said that the use of gutka, pan masala, drugs, and khaini is life-threatening. Speaking at Sattva Knowledge Park, Raidurgam, on Sunday, the Minister flagged off a 10K run and stressed that the government is taking strict measures to curb the consumption and illegal sale of narcotic substances. The awareness initiative is ongoing.

Addressing participants at the Oral Cancer Awareness Marathon in Hyderabad, IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu warned that gutka, pan masala, drugs, and khaini pose serious health risks and can be life-threatening.
He stated that the state government is taking strict measures to curb the consumption and illegal sale of narcotic substances.
10K Run Flagged Off at Sattva Knowledge Park, Raidurgam
The Minister participated in the marathon organized by the Global Oral Cancer Trust at Sattva Knowledge Park, Raidurgam, on Sunday and flagged off the 10K run.
At the same event, Ramesh flagged off the 5K run.
Call for Healthy Lifestyle and Awareness
The Minister urged youth to stay away from harmful addictions and move towards a brighter future. He emphasized that everyone must contribute towards building a healthy society.
He encouraged youth to adopt good habits such as yoga and regular exercise.
Expressing concern over the rising number of deaths due to unhealthy habits, he stressed the urgent need to increase awareness in society.
Focus on Tobacco-Related Diseases and Cancer Awareness
The Minister called for wider awareness campaigns against harmful habits like gutka consumption. He cautioned that tobacco use is leading to an increase in serious diseases such as cancer and urged people to stay away from it.
Global Oral Cancer Trust Highlights Early Detection
Dr. K. Dileep Kumar stated that the marathon was organized to raise awareness about oral cancer. He highlighted that early detection makes treatment possible and advised people to undergo regular health check-ups.
