Hyderabad: Thunderstorm and gusty winds lashed Hyderabad city and several areas in the suburbs this morning. A 10-year-old girl fell into a manhole and died due to heavy rain in Secunderabad, Kalasiguda.
10-yr-old Mounica fell into drain through broken crevice. Her body was reportedly recovered from near ParkLane Secunderabad.
According to sources, the girl was trying to rescue 15-yr-old mentally challenged brother when she fell.
The local people immediately informed the police, after which the police reached the spot. With the help of the municipal staff, they succeeded in retrieving the body.
Sudden stormy rain this morning had flooded several areas. It rained in many areas of the old city as well as the new city. Trees also fell during the rain. Meanwhile, in view of the rain across the state, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for several districts including Hyderabad.
