Heavy Rains in Telangana, Yellow Alert for Hyd City

The Indian meteorological department has forecast heavy rains in the near future. The Yellow index was also issued. The Meteorological department has warned city dwellers to be vigilant and not to leave their homes.

Hyderabad: Heavy rains lashed several places in Hyderabad again. City dwellers are frightened by the thunderstorm. People who have left home are having a hard time getting back home.

The city was drenched in rain around noon today. Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills received moderate rainfall while Rajendranagar and Attapur received heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, torrential rains lashed Malakpet and Dilsukhnagar.

The Indian meteorological department has forecast heavy rains in the near future. The Yellow index was also issued. The Meteorological department has warned city dwellers to be vigilant and not to leave their homes.

It has also forecast heavy rains in several parts of Telangana due to low pressure in the Lakshadweep region of the eastern central and south eastern Arabian Sea. The Telangana State development Planning Society has forecast heavy rains with thunder and lightning in Telangana in the next few days. 

As per the forecast by Telangana State Development Planning Society, most parts of the Hyderabad city will receive rainfall between 15.6 mm to 64.5 mm, the Western parts, including Serilingampally and Jubilee Hills is likely to receive upto 115.6 mm rainfall, the Authorities have issued a yellow alert for the city.

Meanwhile, several districts of Telangana have also been receiving heavy rainfall in the districts including Komaram Bheem-Asifabad, Rangareddy, Medak and Rajanna Sircilla have received upto 6 mm rainfall. Nagaram in Suryapet received the highest rainfall of 88.8 mm.

Several localities of the city received light to moderate rains. Hayathnagar received 37.8 mm rain till afternoon, followed by Asifnagar which received 34.3 mm rainfall.
