High Court Fire on Siddipet Collector; Questions does the Sale of Paddy Seeds Falls in Prohibition Act

The Petitioner has stated in the petition that the Siddipet Collector has given instructions to the seeds sellers not to sell rice seeds to the farmers and requested the High Court that action should be taken on this.

Hyderabad: The High Court of Telangana has held an hearing on the petition filed on the verbal instruction given by the Siddipet Collector not to sell the paddy seeds to the farmers, the High Court fired the Collector and questioned whether the sale of paddy seeds include in prohibition Act. 

The Petitioner has stated in the petition that the Siddipet Collector has given instructions to the seeds sellers not to sell rice seeds to the farmers and requested the High Court that action should be taken on this. The petitioner has named Siddipet Collector, Government of Telangana, Siddipet Agriculture Officer and Mandal Agriculture Officer as respondents.

Advocate General B S Prasad told the High Court that no such orders were issued and given assurance that no such instructions were taken by the government. The High Court questioned how the Collector could make such statements in the case of farmers. 

The High Court expressed displeasure with the attitude of the Collector. The High Court said that criminal content was found in the case.
