Hyderabad: Local YouTubers Spark Midnight Hysteria in Kundanbagh with Haunted House Tale

The usually peaceful Kundanbagh colony has been disrupted by a group of self-proclaimed ‘ghostbusters’ from Hyderabad. Over the past month, around 30 to 40 young men on motorcycles have been racing through Begumpet’s neighborhood every night, convinced they’re investigating
1 haunted house.

This frenzy was sparked by a series of videos shared by local YouTubers. In these viral clips, the hosts encourage their viewers with tales of eerie figures appearing at the abandoned home during unholy hours. They provide directions to the site and even share the Google Maps location for interested visitors.

One frustrated resident, who caught the late-night chaos on their CCTV footage, stated, “It’s a fabricated tale for likes, and now we’re paying the price. I haven’t slept in a week.” The footage shows large groups, both on bikes and on foot, approaching the house in terror, only to swiftly retreat, all between 11 pm and 5 am.

The situation became so severe that local law enforcement had to step in and apprehend 35 young individuals for causing disturbances over the past three days. The police have filed minor charges against some of the bikers who raced through Kundanbagh in pursuit of the supposed haunted house.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, S Mohan Kumar, emphasized, “The story is entirely false, and the house is not haunted. We’ve stationed our officers in the area throughout the night, apprehended 35 individuals so far, filed cases against a few, and contacted the parents of others for counseling. This action will continue for a few more days.”

This isn’t the first time Kundanbagh has lost its peace over ‘ghostbusters’. Back in 2014, the same house garnered sudden attention and experienced similar midnight commotion. “Back then, influencer culture wasn’t as prominent, so the number of visitors was limited,” another resident added.

Local residents believe this issue will persist until all digital references to the house are eradicated from the internet. “In 2014, the police cracked down and detained many. But every few years, a new YouTuber will make a video, and a fresh group of young people will rush in. All mentions of the house, including its Google location, need to be erased,” they insisted.
