The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force and Borabanda Police arrested two alleged drug traffickers and seized 23.706 litres of hash oil worth Rs. 2.96 crore near Erragadda on Saturday night. The accused were allegedly attempting to board a bus to Bengaluru with the contraband when they were intercepted. A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, and efforts are underway to trace other members of the alleged inter-state drug syndicate.

Two Alleged Drug Traffickers Arrested Near Erragadda
The arrested accused have been identified as:
- Lasangi Yakobu alias Venkat (29)
- Yendrapalli Suri Babu (32)
Both are natives of Alluri Sitarama Raju district, Andhra Pradesh.
According to police, the duo was intercepted near the Erragadda bus stop while allegedly attempting to board a bus to Bengaluru carrying the contraband.
Hash Oil Worth Rs. 2.96 Crore Seized
During the operation, police seized:
- 23.706 litres of hash oil
- Estimated value: Rs. 2.96 crore
- Two mobile phones
The seizure was described as a major blow to an alleged inter-state narcotics network.
Contraband Allegedly Sourced from Odisha
According to investigators, the accused procured the hash oil from associates who sourced it from Odisha.
Police said the contraband was transported to Hyderabad by train and was intended to be delivered to a drug peddler in Bengaluru.
Police Reveal Criminal Background
Police said Lasangi Yakobu alias Venkat is a repeat offender.
According to investigators:
- He was involved in a ganja transportation case registered in 2016.
- He is also an absconding accused in an NDPS case registered at Borabanda Police Station in September 2025.
Investigators also suspect that the two accused supplied hash oil to Bengaluru on multiple occasions during 2025 and 2026.
NDPS Act Case Registered
Police have registered a case under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Further investigation is underway to trace other members of the alleged inter-state drug syndicate involved in the supply chain.
Police also urged young people to stay away from drugs and not fall into the trap of easy money or addiction. According to the police, substance abuse can lead to loss of employment, mental and physical health issues, and criminal records that may destroy a person’s future.

The operation was conducted in coordination with Borabanda Police under the supervision of Task Force DCP Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath.
