Hyderabad Police to Auction 1130 Abandoned and Unclaimed Vehicles, Owners Asked to Claim Within Six Months

Hyderabad City Police announced the public auction of 1130 abandoned and unclaimed vehicles. Owners have six months to submit claims before the Commissioner of Police in Hyderabad.

The Hyderabad City Police has announced plans to auction 1130 abandoned and unclaimed vehicles of various types and makes under the provisions of the Hyderabad (Metropolitan Area) Police Act 2004 and Hyderabad City Police Act. Vehicle owners or persons having ownership or hypothecation interest have been asked to submit claims before the Commissioner of Police at ICCC, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad City within six months from the date of proclamation, failing which the vehicles will be disposed of through public auction.

Hyderabad Police Issues Public Notice on 1130 Unclaimed Vehicles

According to Press Note Rc.No.51/DCP/CAR Hqrs/2014-26 dated 7-05-2026, the Hyderabad City Police stated that a total of 1130 abandoned and unclaimed vehicles of different makes and types are proposed to be disposed of through public auction.

The police department said the auction process is being conducted under Section 7 of the Hyderabad (Metropolitan Area) Police Act 2004 read with Section 40 of the Hyderabad City Police Act.

Owners Asked to Submit Claims Within Six Months

Police officials stated that any person having objections or ownership/hypothecation interest in any of the listed vehicles may submit an application before the Commissioner of Police at ICCC, Banjara Hills and claim the vehicle within a period of six months from the date of proclamation.

The press notes clearly mentioned that if no claim is submitted within the stipulated period, the vehicles will be auctioned by the Hyderabad City Police.

Vehicle Details Available at SAR CPL Police Ground in Amberpet

According to the press note, details of the vehicle particulars are available with the auction team located at SAR CPL Police Ground, behind Police Hospital, Amberpet.

The Hyderabad City Police has initiated the process to auction 1130 abandoned and unclaimed vehicles under legal provisions of the Hyderabad (Metropolitan Area) Police Act 2004 and Hyderabad City Police Act. Owners and persons with hypothecation interest have been directed to submit claims before the Commissioner of Police at ICCC, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad City within six months from the proclamation date. If no claims are made, the vehicles will be auctioned through a public auction process.
