HYDRAA Denies Allegation That Only Five Firms Received Tenders

The agency explained that out of the 62 tenders invited for monsoon emergency works, 44 tenders had been opened for evaluation. Of these, four did not qualify.
Among the remaining 40 tenders, 18 bidders qualified, HYDRAA said.
Since the monsoon season has already begun and emergency works are required, fresh tender notifications were reissued in newspapers for the four tenders where no eligible bidder qualified.
HYDRAA further stated that applications for another 22 tenders are still under examination and finalization. More bidders are expected to receive opportunities once the process is completed.
Experience and Capacity Given Priority in Selection
HYDRAA said the selection process gave importance to the previous work experience of bidders, their preparedness, and their ability to mobilize vehicles and manpower required for emergency operations.
The agency stated that the tender selection process involved:
- Three Superintending Engineers from the Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and GHMC Commissionerates
- Nine Assistant Engineers (AEs)
HYDRAA maintained that the process was carried out in a fair and transparent manner.

The agency stated that HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath was on a field inspection throughout Monday morning, which may have prevented unsuccessful bidders from meeting him.
However, HYDRAA clarified that even after the Commissioner returned to the office by 3 PM, no contractor came forward to meet him regarding the issue.
