IIT Hyderabad to host IInvenTiv-2024: A mega celebration of research & innovation

Under the guidance of the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the event aims to be a grand showcase of ingenuity and technological advancements.
During a press conference held at IIT Hyderabad on Friday Dr B V R Mohan Reddy, Chairman of the IInvenTiv-2024 Steering Committee, along with Prof. B S Murty, Director, IIT Hyderabad, Prof. Bidyadhar Subudhi, Director, NIT Warangal, and Prof. P.J. Narayanan, Director, IIIT Hyderabad, unveiled insights about the upcoming mega Research and Development (R&D) fair.
IInvenTiv-2024 serves as a platform to showcase the holistic impact of research and innovation from top Higher Education Institutes in India. The event encourages collaborative efforts among state universities, institutes, and industries to enhance the development and accessibility of innovations at the grassroots level.
This year, the focus of IInvenTiv-2024 will be on five pivotal domains, aligning with the thrust areas for Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat: Affordable Healthcare, Agriculture & Food Processing, Sustainable Technologies (including Climate Change, E-mobility, Clean Energy), Defence and Space and Industry 4.0
In a message, Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized that IInvenTiv-2024 aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Jan Anusandhan,’ contributing to strengthening the country’s research and innovation ecosystem.
The second edition of IInvenTiv is expected to witness expanded participation from various institutes, including NITs, IISERs, IIITs, IISc Bangalore, and the top 50 NIRF-ranked engineering institutions in the country. The collaboration aims to present the top 120 innovations from 53 participating technical institutions nationwide.
Dr Mohan Reddy highlighted the importance of promoting collaboration between academia and industry, stating that such initiatives bridge the gap between research endeavors and industrial investments, fostering innovation designed for India and the global market.
The selected projects will be showcased in designated booths during the event, where representatives from over 2000 industries and key government officials are expected to be present.
In addition to the R&D exhibition, IInvenTiv-2024 will host one-hour panel discussions for each domain, bringing together experts to delve into the challenges and opportunities defining the future of these vital sectors.
Prof Murty expressed delight in hosting the second edition of IInvenTiv-2024, emphasizing its inclusiveness and the potential for commercial realization of the technologies showcased.
IIT Hyderabad invites leading industries to be part of IInvenTiv-2024, fostering knowledge exchange and exploring valuable opportunities. The event anticipates welcoming over 2000 industry participants over the two days.
On Day 1, exclusive access will be granted to industry participants for active engagement with innovations. Day 2 will be open to the public, providing a unique opportunity for a wider audience to witness the latest breakthroughs in technology and research.
